Coastal Region Expo,Peace and Investment Summit
Kenya Vision 2030, UWIANO, Local Capacities for Peace International and Aremant Group is organizing the Peace and Investment Summits to be held in different venues across the country targeting to show case the different opportunities of specific Blocs. After the Lake Basin Region Expo, the first ever Coastal Regional Investment Expo and Peace Summit is planned to take place in Mombasa from 14th to 18th May 2017 at the Mbaraki Sports Club Grounds. It aims to promote peaceful coexistence and resilience during and post electoral period through fostering a culture of peace and non-violence anchored in entrepreneurship for empowering youth and women.
Existence of peace, security, effective and exemplary political leadership, coupled with a sustained entrepreneurial progression are critical ingredients for national socio-economic development.
The event themed as “Unlocking the entrepreneurship potential among youth and women for sustainable peace and development”, will include an exhibition and conference running concurrently for three days with the focus on participation in the discussions on Women in Political leadership, Youth and Election Violence Mitigation and Scenario Building.
Government departments and corporates across sectors will share their experiences on how to harness the potential of the peaceful economic bloc in agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, ICT, extractives among others. The medical camp will aim at providing free health checkups while the Legal aid clinic will provide professional legal services to the people in the region. Sports will then be used as a promoter of social integration and economic development by not only strengthening the social ties and trust building but also promoting ideals of peace, solidarity, non-violence fraternity, justice and tolerance in the coastal region as the country approaches the general elections. The event aims to bring together exhibitors from local, national, regional & international companies together with diverse speakers, 1000 conference delegates, and more than 2,000 trade visitors
